About

About Fox and Kate:

We live on a sailboat — plain and simple — but our life is also one big adventure.

Our home is the schooner Jennie, a two‑masted sailing vessel with four bunks, one head (that’s boat‑speak for “bathroom”), a tiny kitchen with just enough room for snacks, a fridge and freezer built into the table, and an engine room. She’s not the biggest place to live, but she’s pretty, cozy, and full of character.

When we’re not hauling lines, hitting our heads on something (usually Fox), falling over, standing watch, or maybe even throwing up, we’re making art! (Though honestly, most of the art happens when we’re docked, because we get sea‑sick.)

Even though we live on a boat, we’re actually on land a lot of the time. We stay at marinas so we can explore, go hiking, and just hang out like normal people. (not that we’re not normal! *nervous laughter*)

I’m Kate, and I make art inspired by dragons, cats, and whatever else jumps into my imagination. I love creating pieces that make people feel something — sometimes a sense of awe or sublime, sometimes something warm and cozy.

Most of my art happens on the sailboat Jennie, which is my floating home. I draw in the cabin, on deck, at marinas, or anywhere the waves aren’t tossing me around too much. Living on a boat means everything is always moving, literally, but it also means I get to see new places, meet new people, and find inspiration in the ocean every day.

Boat life is a mix of calm moments and total chaos. I’ve fallen out of my bunk, gotten sea‑sick in the middle of drawing or reading, and bumped my head more times than I can count. But I’ve also watched sunsets from the deck, drawn with the sound of waves beneath me, and explored ports I never would’ve seen otherwise.

I love creating alongside Fox — sometimes we work on our own pieces, sometimes we draw together, and sometimes we just laugh at how wobbly our lines get when the boat rocks. Every piece I make is a little snapshot of where we were and what the ocean felt like that day.

Thanks for being here and checking out my art. I hope it brings you a bit of the adventure, color, and ocean magic that inspires me every day.

Meet Kate:

Hi! I’m Fox.
I love creating small, vibrant pieces of art that aren’t too detailed but full of life. Most of the time I draw cats, dinosaurs (raptors are my favorite!), and occasionally birds. Sometimes I *try* to branch out into dragons or other animals, though I don’t always know how to capture them just right.

My style is playful—cute and not entirely realistic, but with a touch of realism at the same time. I usually draw down below so I don’t risk messing up my devices, though sometimes I’ll sketch on deck. It can be a *little* tricky to draw aboard the schooner Jennie, but it’s always fun!

I love the rhythm of sailing—the swash of waves against the hull, the stars overhead during night watch, and the wind filling the sails. Of course, boat life has its challenges too… the hardest part for me is probably bumping my head (or other body parts, honestly—*laughs awkwardly*).

I often draw with Kate, so you might notice two different art styles in some of our pictures. Right now, I don’t usually plan my artwork—I just draw whatever I feel like. I’m also a big fan of Warriors (Warrior Cats) and How to Train Your Dragon!
